The project “Educate Yourself – Provide Help in Preventing Violence” is designed as a comprehensive initiative that addresses the challenges of peer and family violence in Serbia. According to UNICEF data, 65% of students in Serbia have experienced some form of violence, with up to 22% reporting regular experiences with violence. These alarming statistics highlight the need for education of professionals, children, and the general public to recognize, prevent, and adequately address violence.

The project aims to reduce violence through the education of professionals in education and social services, as well as raising awareness among parents, students and the community. The key focus is on the development of practical tools and publications that professionals will use in their daily work, along with the creation of a digital tool for working with users.

Project activities include the creation of a publication on peer violence, the development of a digital tool for professionals, the organization of educational forums and a social media campaign to raise awareness about violence, its consequences and prevention methods.

The project relies on a multidisciplinary approach involving experts from various fields who will contribute to better understanding and solving the problem of violence through education and practical resources. One of the key goals is to strengthen professionals in working with children who have experienced violence.

“Educate Yourself – Provide Help in Preventing Violence” is being implemented by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Novi Sad, with the support of the Cabinet of the Minister without Portfolio responsible for coordinating activities in the field of gender equality, preventing violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women. The project is being implemented from December 2024 until February 2025.
